BNV : লোকরা য়োয়াবকে এসে সংবাদ দিয়ে বলল, “রাজা দায়ূদ অবশালোমের জন্য দুঃখে ভেঙ্গে পড়েছেন এবং কাঁদছেন|”
KJV : And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom.
YLT : And it is declared to Joab, `Lo, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom;`

BNV : সেদিন দায়ূদের সৈন্যরা যুদ্ধে জয়ী হয়েছিল| কিন্তু সেই জয় তাদের সকলের কাছে একটা বিষাদের দিন হয়ে উঠেছিল| তা বিষন্নতার দিন ছিল কারণ লোকরা জানতে পারল, “রাজা তার পুত্রের জন্য শোকমগ্ন|”
KJV : And the victory that day was [turned] into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
YLT : and the salvation on that day becometh mourning to all the people, for the people hath heard on that day, saying, `The king hath been grieved for his son.`

BNV : লোকরা বিমর্ষ হয়ে সেই শহরে এল| তারা যুদ্ধে যারা পরাজিত হয়েছে এবং লজ্জায যারা ছুটে পালিয়ে গেছে সেই লোকদের মত ব্যবহার করল|
KJV : And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle.

BNV : রাজা তাঁর মুখ ঢেকে রেখেছিলেন| তিনি উচ্চস্বরে কাঁদছিলেন, “অবশালোম, অবশালোম, হায পুত্র, পুত্র আমার!”

BNV : য়োয়াব রাজার প্রাসাদে গেল| সে রাজাকে বলল, “আপনি আপনার প্রত্যেকটি আধিকারিকদের অবমাননা করছেন| দেখুন ঐ আধিকারিকরা আজ আপনার প্রাণ বাঁচিয়েছে| তারা আপনার ছেলে-মেয়ে, স্ত্রী এবং দাসীদেরও প্রাণ বাঁচিয়েছে|
KJV : And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines;

ERVEN : Joab came into the king's palace and said to the king, "You are humiliating every one of your officers! Look, they saved your life today and the lives of your sons and daughters and your wives and slave women.

BNV : যারা আপনাকে ঘৃণা করে তাদের আপনি ভালোবাসেন এবং যারা আপনাকে ভালোবাসে তাদের আপনি ঘৃণা করেন| আপনি আজ পরিষ্কার করে বুঝিযে দিলেন যে আপনার আধিকারিক এবং অন্যান্য লোকরা আপনার কাছে একান্তই অর্থহীন| আমি বুঝতে পারছি আমরা সকলে মারা গিয়ে অবশালোম বেঁচে থাকলে আপনি প্রকৃতই সুখী হতেন|
KJV : In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.
YLT : to love thine enemies, and to hate those loving thee, for thou hast declared to-day that thou hast no princes and servants, for I have known to-day that if Absalom [were] alive, and all of us to-day dead, that then it were right in thine eyes.

ERVEN : It seems that you love those who hate you, and you hate those who love you! Today you have made it clear to your officers and men that they mean nothing to you. It appears as if you would have been perfectly happy if Absalom had lived and the rest of us had been killed today!

BNV : এখন উঠুন, আপনার আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে কথা বলুন| ওদের উত্সাহিত করুন| আমি প্রভুর নামে শপথ করে বলছি, যদি আপনি এখনই বাইরে গিয়ে এই কাজ না করেন, আজ রাতে আপনার সঙ্গে একজন লোককেও পাবেন না| এবং তা যদি হয় তাহলে শৈশবকাল থেকে আপনি যে সব সমস্যায় পড়েছেন, এটা হবে তাদের তুলনায় কঠিনতম সমস্যা|”
KJV : Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now.
YLT : `And now, rise, go out and speak unto the heart of thy servants, for by Jehovah I have sworn, that -- thou art not going out -- there doth not lodge a man with thee to-night; and this [is] worse for thee than all the evil that hath come upon thee from thy youth till now.`

BNV : তখন রাজা গিয়ে নগরীর প্রবেশ পথে বসলেন| রাজা যে নগরদ্বারের বাইরে এসেছেন এই খবর ছড়িয়ে পড়ল| তাই লোকরা তাঁর সঙ্গে দেখা করতে এল|ইস্রায়েলীয়রা যারা অবশালোমকে অনুসরণ করছিল তারা সকলে দৌড়ে পালিয়ে যে যার বাড়ী চলে গেল|
KJV : Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.
YLT : And the king riseth, and sitteth in the gate, and to all the people they have declared, saying, `Lo, the king is sitting in the gate;` and all the people come in before the king, and Israel hath fled, each to his tents.

ERVEN : So the king went to the city gate. The news spread that the king was at the gate, so all the people came to see him, except for the Israelites who had run away to their homes.

BNV : প্রত্যেক পরিবারগোষ্ঠীর প্রত্যেকটি লোক নিজেদের মধ্যে কলহ শুরু করে দিল| তারা বলল, “রাজা দায়ূদ আমাদের পলেষ্টীয় এবং অন্যান্য শত্রুদের থেকে বাঁচিয়েছেন| দায়ূদ অবশালোমের হাত থেকে পালিয়ে গেছেন|
KJV : And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, all the people are contending through all the tribes of Israel, saying, `The king delivered us out of the hand of our enemies, yea, he himself delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines, and now he hath fled out of the land because of Absalom,

ERVEN : The tribes of Israel began discussing what to do next. They said, "King David saved us from the Philistines and our other enemies. David left the country because he was running away from Absalom.

BNV : তাই আমরা অবশালোমকে আমাদের শাসকরূপে বেছে নিয়েছিলাম| কিন্তু এখন অবশালোম মারা গেছে| সে যুদ্ধে হত হয়েছে| তাই দায়ূদকে আমরা আবার রাজা হিসেবে গ্রহণ করব|”
KJV : And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back?
YLT : and Absalom whom we anointed over us [is] dead in battle, and now, why are ye silent -- to bring back the king?`

ERVEN : We anointed Absalom to be the king, but he was killed in battle. So we should bring David back to be the king again."

BNV : রাজা দায়ূদ সাদোক এবং অবিয়াথর এই দুই যাজককে বার্তা পাঠালেন| দায়ূদ বললেন, “যিহূদার নেতাদের সঙ্গে কথা বল| তাদের বল, “রাজা দায়ূদকে তাঁর প্রাসাদে ফিরিযে আনার ব্যাপারে তোমরা সব চেয়ে শেষ পরিবারগোষ্ঠী কেন? দেখ, সারা ইস্রায়েলের লোক রাজা দায়ূদকে তাঁর স্বস্থানে ফিরিযে আনার ব্যাপারে বলাবলি করছে|
KJV : And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, [even] to his house.
YLT : And king David sent unto Zadok and unto Abiathar the priests, saying, `Speak ye unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye last to bring back the king unto his house? (and the word of all Israel hath come unto the king, unto his house;)

ERVEN : King David sent a message to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. David said, "Speak to the leaders of Judah and tell them, 'Why are you the last tribe to bring King David back home? See, all the Israelites are talking about bringing the king back home.

BNV : তোমরা আমার ভাই, তোমরাই আমার পরিবার| তবে রাজাকে স্বস্থানে ফিরিযে আনার ব্যাপারে কেন তোমরা পিছিযে থাকা পরিবার হবে?”
KJV : Ye [are] my brethren, ye [are] my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?
YLT : my brethren ye [are], my bone and my flesh ye [are], and why are ye last to bring back the king?
RV : Ye are my brethren, ye are my bone and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king?

BNV : অমাসাকে গিয়ে বল, ‘তুমি আমার পরিবারের একজন| যদি আমি তোমাকে য়োয়াবের জায়গায় আমার সৈনিকদের সেনাপতি না করি, তবে ঈশ্বর যেন আমায় শাস্তি দেন|”‘
KJV : And say ye to Amasa, [Art] thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.
YLT : And to Amasa say ye, Art not thou my bone and my flesh? Thus doth God do to me, and thus He doth add, if thou art not head of the host before me all the days instead of Joab.`
RV : And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.
RSV : And say to Amasa, `Are you not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if you are not commander of my army henceforth in place of Joab.'"
ASV : And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab.
ESV : And say to Amasa, 'Are you not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me and more also, if you are not commander of my army from now on in place of Joab.'"
ERVEN : Also tell Amasa, 'You are part of my family. I swear that I will make you captain of the army in Joab's place.'"

BNV : দায়ূদ যিহূদার সব লোকর হৃদয় স্পর্শ করলেন এবং তারা সকলে একাত্ম হয়ে সম্মতি জানাল| যিহূদার লোকরা রাজার কাছে বার্তা পাঠাল| তারা বলল, “আপনি এবং আপনার সব আধিকারিকরা ফিরে আসুন|”
KJV : And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as [the heart of] one man; so that they sent [this word] unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants.
YLT : And he inclineth the heart of all the men of Judah as one man, and they send unto the king, `Turn back, thou, and all thy servants.`
RV : And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as {cf15i the heart of} one man; so that they sent unto the king, {cf15i saying}, Return thou, and all thy servants.

ERVEN : David touched the hearts of the people of Judah, and they all agreed as one. The people of Judah sent a message to the king, saying, "You and all your officers come back!"

BNV : রাজা দায়ূদ যর্দন নদীর কাছে এলেন| যিহূদার লোকরা রাজার সঙ্গে দেখা করার জন্য এবং তাঁকে যর্দন নদী পার করে নিয়ে যাবার জন্য গিল্গলে এসে উপস্থিত হল|
KJV : So the king returned, and came to Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to conduct the king over Jordan.

BNV : গেরার পুত্র শিমিযি বিন্যামীনের পরিবারের একজন| সে বহুরীমে বাস করত| দায়ূদের সঙ্গে দেখা করার জন্য সে তাড়াতাড়ি এল| সে যিহূদার লোকদের সঙ্গে এল|
KJV : And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which [was] of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.
YLT : and Shimei son of Gera, the Benjamite, who [is] from Bahurim, hasteth, and cometh down with the men of Judah, to meet king David,
RV : And Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David.
RSV : And Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjaminite, from Bahurim, made haste to come down with the men of Judah to meet King David;

ERVEN : Shimei son of Gera, from the tribe of Benjamin, lived in Bahurim. Shimei rushed down to meet King David, with the rest of the people of Judah.

BNV : শিমিযির সঙ্গে বিন্যামীনের পরিবারগোষ্ঠী থেকে আরও 1,000 জন লোক এসেছিল, শৌলের পরিবারের দাস সীবঃও এসেছিলো| সীবঃ তার 15 জন পুত্র এবং 2 জন ভৃত্যকে সঙ্গে এনেছিল| এই সব লোক রাজা দায়ূদের সঙ্গে দেখা করার জন্য তাড়াতাড়ি যর্দন নদীর তীরে এসে উপস্থিত হল|
KJV : And [there were] a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king.
YLT : and a thousand men [are] with him from Benjamin, and Ziba servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him, and they have gone prosperously over the Jordan before the king.
RV : And there were a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went through Jordan in the presence of the king.
RSV : and with him were a thousand men from Benjamin. And Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, with his fifteen sons and his twenty servants, rushed down to the Jordan before the king,

ESV : And with him were a thousand men from Benjamin. And Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, with his fifteen sons and his twenty servants, rushed down to the Jordan before the king,
ERVEN : About 1000 people from the tribe of Benjamin came with Shimei. Ziba the servant from Saul's family also came. Ziba brought his 15 sons and 20 servants with him. All these people hurried to the Jordan River to meet King David.

BNV : রাজার পরিবারকে যিহূদায় ফিরিযে আনার জন্য লোকরা সাহায্য করতে নদীর ওপারে চলে গেল| রাজা যা যা বললেন লোকরা তাই করল| যখন রাজা নদী পার হচ্ছেন তখন গেরার পুত্র শিমিযি তার সঙ্গে দেখা করতে এল| শিমিযি এসে রাজাকে প্রণাম করল|
KJV : And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king’s household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan;

ERVEN : The people went across the Jordan River to help bring the king's family back to Judah. They did whatever the king wanted. While the king was crossing the river, Shimei son of Gera came to meet him. He bowed down to the ground in front of the king.

KJV : And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king [is] near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king’s [cost?] or hath he given us any gift?

KJV : And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more [right] in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.
